Commercial Counsel, WestAbout the role:WeWork is currently seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its rapidly-growing Legal team, in support of its West US/Canada region. The Commercial Counsel will be responsible for the end-to-end management of contracts with a variety of cross-functional internal stakeholders across WeWork s business lines and operations. This position is based in San Francisco, CA. Responsibilities:Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of contracts for a number of different cross-functional internal stakeholders, including Brand, Business Development, Digital/Technology, Events, Marketing, and Sourcing.Facilitate the timely closure of business transactions while minimizing risk exposure.Identify and consult on legal risks in connection with the development of new products.Assist in the development and implementation of processes for efficient and streamlined operations surrounding relevant commercial transactions. Serve as a liaison amongst cross-functional teams on special projects.Analyze, investigate, and resolve disputes with existing clients and partners.Maintain and update form agreements, contract management systems, and other databases. Qualifications:JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Admission in good standing to the CA state bar (or qualified for and willing to apply immediately for and maintain Registered In-House Counsel status with the CA state bar).3+ years of relevant transactional legal experience at top-tier law firm(s), or at a combination of top-tier firm(s) and in-house roles (candidates with in-house experience preferred).Thrives working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, entrepreneurial environment.Responsible, accountable, a self-starter, and results-driven.Excellent proofreading, organization, and communication skills.Able to manage and prioritize amongst competing projects to meet tight deadlines.Organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and flexible.
