Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations (WFRR) oversees regulatory relations for Wells Fargo. It ensures an organized and cohesive approach to interacting with regulators and leads the company s efforts to have a sustained and proactive dialogue on risk management to address regulatory expectations. WFRR is responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for regulatory engagement, ensuring transparency and consistency of communications, providing oversight and guidance on the quality of regulatory responses, and ensuring adherence to enterprise-wide requirements.

The Regulatory Strategy, Engagement and Governance Team within Regulatory WFRR is responsible for managing end-to-end regulatory engagement at the enterprise level.

This Compliance Consultant 4 (CC4) is responsible for the coordination of various regulatory activities across Wells Fargo, in conjunction with lines of businesses. This role will be demanding and rewarding as it provides critical information to the enterprise, including Operating Committee members and to senior business and functional leaders.

This CC4 is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Serving as the initial point of contact and overall coordinator for regulatory relations activities, and working with executive, senior and business unit management for managing the activity and ensuring that appropriate team members are engaged in the process;
  • Facilitating regulator correspondence and communication intake and distribution;
  • Tracking regulator correspondence and related responses to ensure information is communicated in a timely manner;
  • Managing tools, templates and infrastructure systems related to WFRR s intake and processing of regulator communications;
  • Forging strong and effective working relationships with federal regulator s teams
  • Leading the gathering of teams comprised of internal stakeholders to ensure information provided in regulator communications has clear ownership and accountability;
  • Assisting in the review of regulator reports to ensure that findings in one area of Wells Fargo are communicated to relevant areas of the company, as appropriate;
  • Aggregating information and data from regulator communications, including those provided by various groups, to provide transparency into activities across the enterprise;
  • Developing and producing reports for senior management and governance committees, including the Board, to provide transparency into the overall state of regulator communications.

Preferred locations include Charlotte, NC, New York, NY, or San Francisco, CA.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • Experience in managing relationships with regulators and coordinating regulatory interactions
  • Wells Fargo experience including strong knowledge of the lines of business, functional groups and cultural norms;
