DIRECTOR COMPLIANCE AND EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Oversee employee relations issues, investigations, audits, HR compliance functions, unemployment claims and hearings, as well as Americans with Disabilities (ADA) administration.Lead department personnel, directing daily work to ensure completion of core functions. Build skills of team through development and accountability. Maintain departmental budget, tracking total spend and complying with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).Oversee HR strategic partnership for terminals, shops, and corporate clients. Minimize employment related risk by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed by designated leadership personnel. Foster an open-door policy, so employees and leaders feel comfortable discussing pertinent issues with HR.Execute Human Resources compliance reporting and administration, including annual federal reporting (EEO-1), and periodic monitoring of contractor compliance status. Audits and ensures company compliance with I-9 requirements and e-Verify. Monitor and fulfill state and federal posting requirements at all locations.Manage the unemployment processes company wide including the vendor-partner relationship to ensure best return on investment (ROI) for services performed and proper reporting. Oversee \"self-managed\" claims process from initial filing, response and subsequent hearing or appeal including packet production, scheduling of hearings, participating as a hearing representative, preparing witnesses, and achieving at least a 70% win rate company wide. Must train new/additional hearing representatives as needed, make decisions on appropriate cases for appeal, and produce all relevant reports as required,Oversee entire workflow for all requests for accommodation in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Includes coordinating receipt of requests, managing communications between employees, leaders, and medical personnel as required. Maintain documentation of each case and ensure process flows smoothly and with urgency. Counsel employees and leaders about the process and requirements. Ensure sound judgment and decisions are made relative to all accommodation requests.Perform ergonomic evaluations of work areas/stations as requested by employees to determine whether alternative equipment or conditions are required. Work with relevant leaders and procurement departments to execute approved requests.Facilitate record retention program, acting as company records custodian. Includes ensuring proper maintenance, storage and retrieval of records. Track, log and reply to all properly executed subpoenas within the required time frame. Produce records for litigation purposes when required.Oversee the employment verification process including managing the vendor relationship to ensure they meet company needs and remain within cost requirements.Implement Trip Reduction Program (TRP) at corporate office, ensuring compliance with county requirements.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to present materials effectively to a group, thorough and detail oriented, ability to work under pressure, good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's degree and Human Resources certification preferred.Experience Required: Ten (10) years of progressive HR experience required including Compliance and Employee Relations experience.Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to present materials effectively to a group, thorough and detail oriented, ability to work under pressure, good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's degree and Human Resources certification preferred.Ten (10) years of progressive HR experience required including Compliance and Employee Relations experience.
