Sodexos Health Care Division is seeking a Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 1 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA. This is 2nd shift/evening positionthat will require flexibility, Holiday's and Weekends may also be required. Relocation is not offered at this time.
Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385 bed hospital and is the Coachella Valley's only trauma center. One of our most focused activities is on continuous measurement and improvement of our services. The unit operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week with an hourly workforce speaking predominately Spanish. Relocation is not offered at this time.
This position will be responsible for customer and client interaction, custodial inspection measurements, on-going training, quality, safety, pest control and the implementation of best practices. It will also be responsible for infection control compliance, improved services, and timeliness of responses and validation of work quality. Manage and coordinate floor care team and project work.

The Hands-On manager primarily handles day-to-day Environmental Services operational functions and ensures unit level, corporate, employee relations, safety, training, and unit operating systems compliance.Required: Good working knowledge of state& federal employment law; solid computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; good communication and presentation skills; detailed oriented, and well organized. Preferred: Ability to communicate (speak and write) in English and Spanish will assist in managing this workforce.Position Summary
Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.Key Duties-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.-Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees-Coordinate/conduct employee training-Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)-Interact with outside vendors-Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.-Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified. -Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments.
