Environmental Services / Custodial Operations Manager 1

Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a strong, dynamic Environmental Services Operations Manager 1 for a support/resource role inTexas and possible national area. This is a Regional Operations Support (ROS) position that will provide management support at several healthcare client sites on multiple shifts throughout the assigned market and will will last up to 1 year in length providing the opportunity to apply and begin your career with Sodexo and future permanent opportunities. This is postion must be able to work all shifts position. Alternate holidays and weekends are required.

This Regional Operations Support Manager will have expertise and working knowledge of all aspects of a Environmental Services department and bring strong customer and client relations skills. Should be flexible to support other local accounts as business needs arise.

Candidates MUST have the ability to travel and be flexible to work various shifts.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel and will have a focus on accounts in the southwest and live in the Texas, Oklahoma or New Mexico region.

This position will be responsible for customer and client interaction, custodial inspection measurements, custodial operating levels, on-going training, quality, safety and the implementation of best practices. Will also be responsible for compliance, improved services, timeliness of responses and validation of work quality.

Must have proven ability in:

  • Must have the ability to travel - Must be willing and able to travel extensively up to 10 days in a row (10 on / 4 off schedule).

  • Handling multiple priorities
  • Interaction with a diverse group - culturally and work groups - to ensure positive customer interaction
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts
  • The position time-line is up to 1 year, however, it could lead to a permanent position at any time.

The successful candidate must be/have:

* Customer service skills to enhance or improve the experience of the staff and patients

* Able to communicate effectively and delegate responsibility efficiently

* Able to establish, develop, and maintain relationships and client satisfaction in custodial services to ensure account retention.

* Direct daily custodial operations to ensure employees have the necessary skills, equipment, and resources to complete their assignments.

* Previous floor care experience preferred.

*The ability to be bilingual in Spanish would assist in managing this workforce.

The Hands-On incumbent primarily handles day to day operational functions and ensures unit level, corporate, employee relations, safety, training, and unit operating systems compliance.

Required: Good working knowledge of state& federal employment law; solid computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; good communication and presentation skills; detailed oriented, and well organized. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory and maintenance.-Assumes GM responsibilities and authority in his or her absence-Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards. -Ensures compliance with application of all Sodexo Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services. -Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develops and implements quality improvements and ensures direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations. -Assists with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, and material), and taking corrective action as needed.
