Sr Sourcing Specialist
PRIMARY PURPOSE:Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for developing procurement strategies for assigned equipment, supply and service categories across the BSI system. The Sr. Sourcing Specialist will lead vendor sourcing, contracting and contract management initiatives in support of Blood Systems, affiliates, and related entities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.Assures quality customer service to all customers.Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.Conducts market research for alternative products/services and procurement sources.Analyzes trends in vendor spend/data; provides detailed cost analysis alongside other vendor sourcing opportunities.Negotiates contracts for capital equipment, supplies and services.. Provides transitional oversight when awarding contracts to new suppliers.Independently develops RFP documents to meet BSI stakeholder needs. Ensures RFP bid and negotiation process is conducted in the most fair and ethical manner.Prepares accurate bid analysis and recommends the most responsive and responsible bidder based on Total Cost of Ownership.Applies fact based negotiation tactics to resolve differences between vendor and BSI ensuring an acceptable outcome for both parties. Seeks assistance from Strategic Sourcing Manager as needed.Provides support to management (inside and outside Corporate Supply Chain) in planning and executing sourcing strategies for specific projects.Establishes strong relationships with strategic vendors to ensure key spend categories are under contract.Decides if proposed contract changes and modifications are reasonable and in the best interest of BSI. Consults with Strategic Sourcing Manager as appropriate.Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge/ EducationBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Licenses/ CertificationsCPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) preferred.ExperienceFive years of Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) purchasing experience required.Healthcare purchasing experience preferred.Experience in healthcare Supply Chain Management environment preferred.Skills/AbilitiesMust possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.Must be able to maintain confidentiality.Effective interpersonal and presentation skills requiredEffective oral and written communication skills required.Strong analytical, statistical, personal organization and problem solving skills.Able to establish priorities and follow through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision.Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member.Must have proficient skill with Excel and Word.* EEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/VeteransOur organization is an equal employment/affirmative action employer.
